The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX announced a new partnership with the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational, one of the nation’s most prestigious junior golf tournaments, and the South Carolina Junior Golf Association, further strengthening the tournament’s commitment to player development and the future of the game.
With this new partnership, the champion of the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational will earn a sponsor exemption for the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX, providing the opportunity for junior golfers to step onto the Korn Ferry Tour stage. The 2025 Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational Champion, Jackson Ormond, will become the inaugural invitation recipient, earning a spot in the 2026 tournament.
“We are incredibly grateful to the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX for creating this opportunity for our junior golfer to take the next step toward professional competition,” said Doug Smith, Chairman of Board of Directors for the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational. “This milestone would not be possible without the tremendous support of our Board, sponsors, and dedicated volunteers, as well as the hospitality and commitment of the Country Club of Spartanburg. We are also thankful for our valued partnerships with the South Carolina Junior Golf Association and the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation. This elevates our championship in a meaningful way, and we are excited about the impact it will have on our players and the game of golf for years to come.”
Established in 1995, the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious junior golf tournaments in the country, having hosted champions who have gone on to compete on the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA TOUR. Notable alumni include Lucas Glover, Bill Haas, Brian Harman, William McGirt, Karl Vilips, and the most recent PGA TOUR winner, Jacob Bridgeman, who have collectively amassed multiple PGA TOUR victories and major championships. The tournament is known not only for its competitive excellence, but also for its tradition of Southern hospitality extended to players and their families.
In addition to its competitive prominence, the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational plays a significant role in supporting South Carolina high school graduates as they pursue higher education through the Bobby Chapman Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship. Each year, 10 South Carolina high school graduates are awarded scholarships, honoring the legacy of Robert H. (Bobby) Chapman, Jr., an avid amateur golfer and distinguished citizen of Spartanburg, South Carolina. In addition to scholarships, the Foundation is also a major supporter of statewide junior golf initiatives through its partnership with the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation. Since its establishment, the Foundation has awarded more than $315,000 in higher education scholarships and support for junior golf initiatives, reinforcing the Invitational’s long-standing commitment to the game both on and off the course.
The partnership also highlights the ongoing contributions of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA) in supporting junior golf across the state. Established in 1990, the SCJGA works year-round to grow the game through a statewide schedule of competitive events, education, and player development programs for junior golfers of all skill levels. Through its tiered tournament structure and commitment to sportsmanship and instruction, the SCJGA provides meaningful pathways for young players to develop both on and off the course.
“The South Carolina Junior Golf Association is proud to partner with the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX and the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational in creating meaningful opportunities for our junior golfers,” said Biff Lathrop, Executive Director of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association. “Providing a direct pathway for a junior champion to compete on the Korn Ferry Tour stage is an extraordinary step in player development. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to growing the game, fostering excellence, and preparing young golfers in South Carolina for success both on and off the course.”
“We’ve had a long and meaningful partnership with the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational, and we’re thrilled to see that relationship now blend with our new partnership with the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX,” said Ben Pasquith, General Manager and COO of the Country Club of Spartanburg. “Bringing these two tournaments together further solidifies our course and club as a destination for golfers at every level and reinforces our commitment to the growth of the game here in Spartanburg.”
Tournament officials say these partnerships further solidify the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational as one of the most prestigious junior golf tournaments in the nation, while enhancing the game of golf for years to come through meaningful player development opportunities.
Michael McGovern, Tournament Director of the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX, highlighted the broader impact on the community and the tournament’s future. “We are thrilled to bring professional golf back to the Country Club of Spartanburg, and now we’re proud to offer the Bobby Chapman champion, who competes on this very course, the opportunity to compete in a Korn Ferry Tour event,” McGovern said. “We’re also grateful to be partnering with the South Carolina Junior Golf Association and look forward to working alongside them during tournament week as they host the South Carolina Junior Golf Association Pro-Am and lead several junior golf clinics. Together, these partnerships reinforce our mission of supporting the community and the game of golf at every level.”
The 2026 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX will be played June 4–7, 2026, at Thornblade Club and the Country Club of Spartanburg with tournament events taking place throughout the week.
