Precision Jig & Fixture South (PJF) announced Thursday, Dec. 14, it will invest $6.5 million to expand its Spartanburg County operations and create 40 new jobs during the next five years.

PJF, headquartered in Michigan, said the expansion will include two new building additions to its existing facility at 915 Berry Shoals Road in Duncan.

The nearly 5,000-square-foot facility sits on about 7.4 acres near the intersection of Berry Shoals Road and Highway 101 about four miles south of Spartanburg County-based BMW Manufacturing Co.

Crews using earth-moving equipment were already busy working at the site on Thursday.

“We are very thankful for all the companies that have helped PJF secure a future in the southern corridor,” the company’s management team said in a statement. “We broke ground on Dec. 4 and hiring has already begun.”

The company said the first addition should be completed by March 2018 and the second by the spring of 2019.

The company’s investment will include two additions to its existing facility.

PJF, founded in 1995, said it is a full-service inspection tooling manufacturer that “utilizes its in-house capabilities to design, build, and certify fixtures for a variety of markets, including the automotive, heavy equipment, military, and aerospace industries.”

“We are tremendously pleased that Precision Jig & Fixture South is expanding and growing its operations in Spartanburg County,” said Spartanburg County Councilman David Britt in a statement. “The decision to expand here reflects the depth of our manufacturing talent and Spartanburg County’s commitment to supporting the growth of our existing industries.”

The state’s Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce.

PJF said job applicants should email solutions@pjfinc.com.
